October 11, 2018 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Case Type / Number: Hillside Development Permit 18-17 Second-floor Review 18-11 Setback Modification 18-08 Applicant: Myung Chung Property Owner: Richard Han Site Address: 4931 Alta Canyada NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, the Planning Commission of the City of La Canada Flintridge will hold a public hearing to consider a request for a Hillside Development Permit and Second-Floor Review to allow first and second-floor expansion of an existing single-story residence on a hillside lot. A Setback Modification is also requested to retain the existing deficient front and side-yard setbacks since more than 30 percent of the roof is being removed, thereby qualifying the house as new. The applicant is also proposing new retaining walls and decks in the rear yard, as well as, other site improvements. The hearing will be conducted in the Council Chambers on the lower level of City Hall, 1327 Foothill Boulevard. The Planning Commission convenes at 6:00 p.m. The order of items on the agenda will be determined the week prior to the hearing. Copies of all relevant documents are on file for review during business hours at City Hall. All interested persons will be given the opportunity to speak at the public hearing. Staff has determined that the project is Categorically Exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act under Section 15301(e)(1) and 15305(a) of the CEQA Guidelines. If you challenge the Hillside Development Permit, Second-Floor Review, Setback Modification and/or the environmental determination in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in correspondence delivered to the Planning Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing.
